A brief visit to Nethergong after work in rainy conditions on the 5th January produced a few birds including four year ticks in the form of a Pheasant, Common Buzzard, 1 Tufted Duck on the lake and best of all, 1 Barn Owl flew over the fields and over the frog pond at dusk giving nice views. A very brief visit for 30 minutes after work to Nethergong on the 4th January produced two new year ticks in the form of c40 Fieldfare and 1 Peregrine was seen at dusk whizzing low over the fields.
