I made a couple of visit Saturday morning where a good range of species were noted including 1 Cuckoo (96) calling, 2 Sparrowhawk, 2 Raven, 5 Reed Warbler (97) 1 Grasshopper Warbler (98) singing, our first spring bird in six years. Also seen were 4 Cetti's Warbler, 5 Blackcap, 1 Willow Warbler, 5 Chiffchaff, 2 Sedge Warbler, 5 Whitethroat, 20 Fieldfare still hanging on, 2 Bullfinch, 4 Yellowhammer and 2 Reed Bunting. A return mid morning produced 1 Swift (99), 1 Lapwing, 1 Marsh Harrier, 6 Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, 2 Jay, 2 Raven, 4 Skylark, 10 Sedge Warbler, 3 Sand Martin (100), 2 House Martin (101), 2 Willow Warbler, a good spring for this species, 6 Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 1 Mistle Thrush, 1 male Stonechat, likely that they are attempting to breed, 1 Wheatear (102) our first ever spring record, 1 Bullfinch, c20 Linnet, 2 Yellowhammer and 4 Reed Bunting.
