A walk around Nethergong from first light for a few hours before it got too hot produced 50 species. Birds of note included 1 Cuckoo, 6 Swift, 5 Moorhen, 1 Black headed Gull, 1 Lesser Black backed Gull, 1 Common Tern, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kestrel, 1 Jay, 1 Skylark, 4 Sedge Warbler, 6 Reed Warbler, 2 Swallow, 7 Chiffchaff, 2 Cetti's Warbler, 6 Long tailed Tit, 5 Blackcap, 5 Whitethroat, 1 Firecrest singing, 1 Treecreeper, 1 Mistle Thrush, 3 Song Thrush, 1 Grey Wagtail (110), 2 Chaffinch, 6 Goldfinch, 1 Yellowhammer and 2 Reed Bunting. Notable butterflies included c15 Marbled White and 4 White-letter Hairstreak with one feeding low down allowing me to grab a few photos.
