I made a visit for a few hours from 06:45 yesterday where the weather was mainly very foggy but occasionally, it would clear briefly before the fog arrived again. This in turn made the birding quite a challenge. Birds noted included 90 Mute Swan, 1 Tawny Owl, 18 Mallard, 6 Grey Partridge (48) standing out quite well in a frosted field but with the light and fog very poor, my photographic attempts were nothing shot of poor. There were 3 Grey Pheasant, 2 Stock Dove, 6 Woodpigeon, 1 Collared Dove, 14 Moorhen, 1 Woodcock (49) in to roost at dawn, 2 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper (50) along the Penn, 1 Common Gull (51), c240 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Peregrine (52), 2 Magpie, 2 Jackdaw, 2 Rook, 7 Carrion Crow, 2 Raven, 3 Blue Tit, 5 Great Tit, 2 Cetti's Warbler, 14 Starling, 1 Song Thrush, 2 Redwing, 3 Blackbird, 5 Fieldfare, 3 Robin, 6 Stonechat, 2 Dunnock (53), 3 House Sparrow, 1 Skylark, (54), 2 Meadow Pipit and 7 Chaffinch.
