With the sun shining this afternoon and very little wind, I had an hour over Nethergong to see if any birds were about. It proved to be a very good decision as I saw a patch first for me in the form of a Short eared Owl (61) which was seen distantly hunting over the fields to the east of the gate. This area looks very good for raptors so it was nice to add this bonus species to the year list. Also seen were 1 Sparrowhawk (62), 1 Jay, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, c25 Meadow Pipit, c30 Cormorant, 2 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Water Rail, 1 Treecreeper, 2 Stonechat, 8 Mute Swan, 2 Mallard, 2 Mistle Thrush, 1 Redwing and 1 Ring necked Parakeet.

  1. I'm playing catchup already Marc! LoL Never had a SEO here, not really any hunting habitat for them.
