The last couple of weeks have generally been quiet with most adult birds now busy feeding young around the site and not a lot of visible migration taking place. Birds of note seen have included good numbers of Whitethroat, Reed and Sedge Warbler with lesser numbers of Cetti's, Chiffchaff, Blackcap and today, 2 Garden Warbler. There are at least 2 Cuckoo around most mornings, also 2 Grey Heron, 2 Common Buzzard, 2 Stonechat, 4 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Bullfinch, 6 Yellowhammer, 3 Turtle Dove (2 purring males), 3 Common tern, 2 Barn Owl with one yesterday photographed early morning hunting in the wet fields. There were 3 Skylark, 1 Swift, 7 Lapwing north, 5 Swallow, 6 Long tailed Tit, 1 Curlew calling yesterday morning towards Grove Ferry and 3 Red Kite flew in from the south and then flew steadily West. A few 'Nocmig' sessions in the last couple of weeks at night have proven fruitless with just a Lapwing and Barn Owl of any note recorded. With Autumn migration due to start in the next few weeks, I really need a few good birds to be recorded.

    1. Many thanks Richard. All taken with the f4 300m and 1.4 converter. Not a bad starter. Take care.
