I had a good walk around the area this morning from 05:30 in mostly sunny conditions with a light wind. Birds noted included 14 Mute Swan, 1 Mandarin (111) flushed from the stream, 7 Mallard, 1 Tufted Duck, 2 Pheasant, 6 Stock Dove, c60 Woodpigeon, 3 Collared Dove, 1 juvenile Cuckoo, 8 Moorhen, 1 Common Gull, 29 Herring Gull, 6 Lesser Black backed Gull, 6 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Common Buzzard, 2 Great spotted Woodpecker, 3 Green Woodpecker, 5 Kestrel and 2 Jay. There were 11 Magpie, 12 Rook, 2 Skylark, 13 Sedge Warbler, 12 Reed Warbler, 15 Swallow, 4 Chiffchaff, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 5 Blackcap, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 5 Whitethroat, 1 Treecreeper, 1 Mistle Thrush, 2 Song Thrush, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Pied Wagtail, 3 Chaffinch, 2 Bullfinch, 2 Linnet, 19 Goldfinch, 1 Yellowhammer and 30 Reed Bunting. Whilst at the Beaver's dam, 8 Crossbill (112) flew west calling. This is only the second time this species has been recorded here in the nine years of watching the area.

Excellent image of the juvenile Cuckoo. I had no idea the juvenile Cuckoo had such brilliant tail feathers, and that's the truth Marc.
