I arrived at Nethergong this morning at 6am where I spent 3 hours wandering around the site and adjacent fields in sunny warm conditions. Birds noted included 1 Willow Warbler (116) which was a welcome year tick. There seem to have been a small arrival of this species in east Kent this morning so it was nice to get one on the patch. There were 8 Linnet, 1 Sparrowhawk, 2 Green Woodpecker, 2 Treecreeper, 4 Chiffchaff, 1 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Barn Owl, 3 Sand Martin, 1 Kestrel, 1 female Tufted Duck, 1 House Martin, 1 Blackcap, 5 Cormorant, 4 Yellowhammer, 1 Bullfinch, 2 Great spotted Woodpecker, 4 Mute Swan, 8 Reed Warbler, 1 Greenfinch and 5 Whitethroat. Recording during the night only produced the Barn Owl which was heard a few times.

  1. Super shots, Marc. By amazing coincidence I've had one messing about in my garden today - a rare visitor to us. Hopefully got a usable shot or two.

    Best wishes - stay safe - - - Richard

    1. Many thanks Richard. The shots aren't anything special, just record shots of the occurrence here. Was hoping for one in the spring but they are not guaranteed here and be tricky to get. The list moves on. Take care.
