A few visits in the past week in very warm conditions have produced a few good birds including 1 Hobby, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Raven seen on most visits, 1 Grasshopper warbler (second of the autumn) a few Sedge, Reed, Willow Warbler Blackcap and Chiffchaff along with Whitethroat and Lesser Whitethroat. An early visit yesterday produced 1 calling Grey Partridge (114) briefly, 1 Turtle Dove, 1 Green Sandpiper, a flock of 6 Grey Heron west, 1 Ring necked Parakeet, 2 Bullfinch and today produced 1 Marsh Harrier, 9 Yellowhammer, 1 Whinchat (115) but despite a good search of fenceposts and fields, I still have never found a Wheatear here! Recording throughout the past few days has produced Barn Owl, Tawny Owl and a call a few nights ago sounded good to me for Bearded Tit but I would have liked to hear it call a few more times to confirm it. Recording last night produced 2 Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank, 1 Greenshank (116) and numerous Barn Owl calls as well as early morning Ravens flying over.
