I had a couple of sessions at Nethergong yesterday, a few hours from first light and them a couple more late morning in the sunshine. I arrived in the dark and made my way out to the fields in the hope of catching the Crane flying in and hoping I could get a shot that was a little nearer and not in silhouette. Not long after 07:30 the light started picking up and suddenly there it was. Unfortunately it decided to fly further out before cutting in over the pylons meaning that once again, my shots were in silhouette. Nonetheless, it was nice to see it land in the fields where I had good views. I planned to return later and see whether I could get a few more photos. On arrival there were a few tractors working in the fields but despite this I managed to find the Crane feeding in a distant field. I decided to make my way through the fields and stand in an area where I hoped I could get a few photos. I could see a tractor entering the field the Crane was feeding in and it wasn't long until the Crane took to the air and thankfully banked around towards me and made a pass before landing again in another field. Earlier in the morning at 07:00 I had a Great White Egret flying high south towards Grove Ferry.
