Birding on 10th May for an hour early morning produced 2 Cuckoo, 1 Swift, 5 Common Tern, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Jay, 1 Sedge Warbler, 7 Reed Warbler, 1 Swallow, 4 Chiffchaff, 6 Cetti's Warbler, 5 Blackcap, 4 Whitethroat, 1 Linnet and 1 Reed Bunting. A visit on the 12th early morning produced 1 Turtle Dove 'purring', 2 Cuckoo, 1 Swift, 2 Common Tern, 1 Bittern hear booming early morning from the Stour Valley, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Common Buzzard, 1 Great spotted Woodpecker, 1 Kestrel, 1 Jay, 1 Raven, 4 Skylark, 4 Sedge Warbler, 14 Reed Warbler, 1 Sand Martin, 4 Swallow, 6 Chiffchaff, 3 Cetti's Warbler, 6 Blackcap, 1 Garden Warbler (118) singing but went unseen, 5 Whitethroat, 1 Stonechat, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 3 Bullfinch, 3 Linnet, 6 Goldfinch, 2 Yellowhammer and 4 Reed Bunting. I recorded a call a few weeks ago which seems to have been from a Nightingale which is a good bird to get on the site. 'Nocmig' recording on a few nights of late continues to be quite depressing. Hardly anything of note moving through which is worrying. It looks like I will be waiting for the autumn to try to get a few more waders on the year list.
