Sunday 7 November 2021

Visits on both Saturday and Sunday morning this weekend produced a nice 50 species. Birds of note seen included 2 Jay, 2 Goldcrest, 1 Brambling, small flocks of Fieldfare and Redwing west and a noticeable increase in Blackbirds with some seen flying at quite some height. There were c120 Cormorant, 9 Pheasant, 1 Common Buzzard, 3 Skylark, 2 Siskin, 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Stonechat, 1 Raven, 5 Cetti's Warbler, 1 Kestrel, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Grey Wagtail, 10 Lesser Redpoll and 6 Bullfinch, 5 high north calling. A hide session this morning between 9 - midday to the feeding station produced the usual commoner species but nice to photograph a range of species in good light. A Weasel made an appearance where a few photos were taken and it was seen again a while later carrying prey. A Brambling was also heard.
